Correspondence 1940-1977; 1954-1972.

The correspondence is primarily between Neudoerffer and the presidents of the Andhra Evangelical Lutheran Church. They cover both his time with the ULCA and the LCA, with a few files from his time with the DWME. The records were maintained as a continuing series as the church body names and structures changed. In addition to the files listed with the names of the chief correspondents, there are general files of correspondence and files of cover letters that were sent with copies of Andhra Evangelical Lutheran Church minutes, as well as one file of correspondence with or about missionaries. Both the general files and the cover letters include folders kept by Neudoerffer's predecessors and handed on to Neudoerffer. These predecessors are Luther A. Gotwald and Earl S. Erb. Gotwald served as Executive Secretary of the Board of Foreign Missions of the ULCA from 1947-52 and Erb served in the same position from 1952-62. The dates of the correspondence do not always match exactly the dates of office for each president. Correspondence with the individual may have preceded or extended beyond the individual's presidential tenure. One folder lists the treasurer, E.E. Nabert, as the chief correspondent. The most extensive of Neudoerffer's correspondence with the Andhra Evangelical Lutheran Church presidents is with Schmitthenner, the president with the longest tenure. The files are arranged chronologically within the divisions of cover letters, general correspondence, and presidents.
